Hi,

How old is your kitten? This behavior is usually common in kittens that are removed from their mom too soon and/or weaned too early. He's trying to nurse on you.

Some kittens and even full-grown cats, have a very strong sucking reflex, just like human babies, and they will demonstrate nursing (suckling) behavior all through their lives. The most important thing is to monitor the items they try to nurse on. If your kitten is trying to suck on your skin, provide him with a clean, 100% cotton t-shirt and place this in his little cat bed. If you don't have a cat bed, you can make one from a cardboard box lined with fluffy towels or a small blanket (no fuzzy materials). That's part of the danger of the material--if a cat suckles a fuzzy or nubby material or one with frayed edges or loose threads/fringes, where little pieces can easily come off, this can not only pose a choking hazard, but can also cause a dangerous intestinal blockage.

Hopefully, as your kitten grows and becomes more secure in his new home, he'll outgrow this nursing behavior.

He sounds adorable!   : )

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. Ace is 9 weeks old. Why does he only do all this to me? He never does any of it to my husband.
