my boxers have bumps all over there body mostly on top. ih eard it could be mites or a bacterial infection of the skin, i thought it was ant bites. i don't understand why the bumps keep coming and going, one week i see them, then maybe two weeks later there gone, then comeback.

Some dogs get allergic disease that leads to the bacterial infection. These could also be cysts that drain out. You should let your vet look at these lesions to be sure. If there are bacterial problems, then low dose antibiotics may help this. We do this in dogs because the bacteria rarely develop resistance to the antibiotics. I treat some dogs with bacterial skin infections only on the weekends. They do not take antibiotics during the week.

The dog's immune system can deal with these so they can come and go. If there is an allergic reaction and these are like hives, they will go away on their own until the next time the dog comes in contact with the allergen.
