we have three cats..one brought fleas in and it was found at the vet..the other two cats are indoor cats
this happened a long time ago and a professional came in and "bombed" the house..i remember we all had to leave for a few hours including the cats..and it worked..that was it..
we went to home depot today, there is a ton of product, not sure which to buy
then the vet tells someone, bombing doesnt work?is it that the overthe counter stuff doesnt work..the vet also says flea baths dont work? we should call terminix..i think the vet is in cahoots with terminix, because terminix want a one year contract
there has to be something we can do,and the bombing has always worked in the past
a good flea bath,a flea collar and periodic treatments of frontline should do it
can you help us determine what part of the info we are getting is factual?

Optional Information:
Age: 7; Female; Breed: cat mixed breed

Already Tried:
advantage and frontline flea bath

Dear friend,

You do not have to go to such extremes. Remove all flea collars as they ar etitally innefective for kiling fleas and are also harmful to cats. Treat all cats with the monthly product Revolution which you gat ata avet or www.1800petmeds.com If any cats have fleas your vet can give them an oral dose of Capstar to kill them. If your home has fleas use fleatrol premise spray to eradicte them.

Keep all cats indoors so they will not bring in any new fleas.

These measures wil solve the problem safely and effectively.

Let me know if you still have questions. I am happy to help.

Very sincerely,

Terri

Relist: I prefer a second opinion.

our vet never suggested anything called capstar
they gave the cat a flea bath, told us bombing the house wouldnt work, and to call terminix, which is a rip off...our vet said to get a flea collar..you tell us they are harmful!

Dear friend,

You are correct that Teminix is a total ripoff and they prey on people like you that are enormously frustated by fleas. You could buy your own bombs in the supermarket and they would be just as effective but new eggs WILL hatch so it has to be repeated. It is a real PITA to have to leave your home to bomb.

Use the website I gave you to order fleatrol.

It is true that new eggs will keep hatching that is why you must treat the cats with a product that kills fleas AND hatching eggs. Using Revoluton will stop the flea life cycle if you use it every month.

Flea collars are inneffective because they only kill a flea if he walks right under the collar - they do nothing to kill fleas in the home if they are not actually on the cat.

Please let me know if you still have questions. I understnd you have received conflicting infrmation so I am happy to help clear things up.
