Question

Timid behavior in a normally hyper dog.

Sent to Cat Experts July 29, 2006 12:17 p.m.

My yorkie, 2 years old, has acted skiddish and timid for almost 2-3 weeks. He used to jump on the furniture (we allowed this) with no problem he seems aprehensive about doing so now. He will cower and avoid people at times, often hiding under tables or nightstands. At times when we pick him up, he will yelp, so we will pet the area to see if that causes him pain, it doesn't.
He seems to shiver at times so we pick him up and he will still shiver. Personally I think it's him acting out as a rebellious teen-ager. We are pregnant and think this might have something to do with it.
I come to this conclusion because he will run and jump and bark when something interests him (cats, birds, noises outside...). Any information would be helpful, thanks Dave Olivas

Is there a possibility that someone (proably a child) that kicked the dog?

Could he have fallen off the couch or chair?

How big is your Yorkie?

Let me know, and I will reply right away with information to your question. I have a Yorkie, weighing in at a "whopping" 3lb, 1oz. and I have had a similar situattion.

I will await your reply, thank you, Tammy
