I purchase a cute lttlie Maltepoo about 2 days ago. She is 4 months old less than 1 lb. She came with all the required papers and was assured she was in good health with up to date shots. The first day she ate a little bit of food but seemed to throw it up. She was peeing alot, so I didn't think she was dehydrating. She was playing but would have sudden bouts of severe shaking. I thought is was becasue of the new enviroment. Then yesterday the diaherrea started but she was still peeing. She seemed tired and not very hungry, but she would have sudden burst of energy and play. I woke up this morning to find her not breathing. I tried CPR and by the time I got her to the vet. She passed. Why, how could this have happened?

The only way to know for sure what has happened is to have the vet do a necropsy which is like a human autopsy.
The shaking might have been due to low blood sugar.
Or she might have been so undersized for her age due to a serious health issue such as a heart, liver, or kidney problem. She could have had a viral infection too. The diarrhea may have been from viral infection or from intestinal parasites or bacterial infection.
As the dog became fatally ill within two days of purchase you might be due your money back depending on where you got the dog. It was very likely sold to you while sick particularly if you purchased it at a pet store.
This is very sad for you!
Depending on where you live puppy lemon laws may apply. This site lists some of the states and applicable laws

Hope this helps you and I'm so sorry for your loss!

Thank you so much for your help! I am trying not to blame myself for my loss. She was very small and I should have seen the 'RED' flags when I bought her. I think I was just overwhelmed with her being so cute and completely forgot to ask the appropriate questions. I will be more cautious in the future. Thank you!
