Question

17 mo old male cat, suddenly becoming thinner and anal discrections, s

Sent to Cat Experts July 24, 2006 11:09 p.m.

Hello I have a male cat (still intact) and I keep him separate from my female cat because I want to plan a pregnancy. When we bought him from a breeder which will almost be a year ago he was 5 months. He is a LHC (Himilayan purebred). We had him declawed, and his shots up to date. (Rabies distemper) even though he is going to be an indoor cat. The vet mention his front teeth are backwards, which explained why he ate sideways. We would have never thought to look, and the breeder didn't mention it. Lately he has been hardly eating. We give him soft food, make sure he has freah water and liter box, offer hard food, cooked chicken anything so he would eat. He is becoming thin, and I can feel his backbone. Today at the groomer's shop she called and explained he had drainage from his anus. I'm troubled what to do? Any advice other than bring him to the vet, because I plan to bring him there tomorrow. I'm so worried why he is getting so thin in a short time, no worms, just this leakage from his anal gland. :(

Optional Information:
Age: 2; Male; Breed: Himilayan seal point lynx

Already Tried:
At first he seemed fussy about his food. So we tried soft food, cooked chicken, he has teeth trouble that causes him difficullty chewing, and becoming more of a problem. Trying to get him to eat, and now he has this anal secrection, liquid draining, however he was able to have a bowel movement.
