Repeatedly removing them whenever you catch them and saying "NO!" with feeling (never hitting them) helps them associate the action with something unpleasant.

You can also have a squirt bottle at the ready throughout the house. Plain, clean water of course. Always aim for feet or rump otherwise you'll just make him afraid of you and this is a bunch of other problems. Never squirt more than once - with a firm "NO!" added each time.

These methods often work, but I'll tell you the truth, as soon as no one's around to see.... they're going to do what they want, when they want and where they want. They are cats. They own us Images available only to Customers.
