I have a toy pomeranian 8 years old that has seizures only when she is in a deep sleep, which has my vet stumped. she will suddenly stiffen, her tongue rolls out and her eyes are glazed. She stops breathing for a few seconds then starts jerking before she finally catches her breath. She is taking phenobarb and that seems to have lessened the attacks some but she still has them regularly. My vet says he has never heard of this while the pet is asleep. Have you?

Actually most seizures seem to begin while an animal is asleep. It may be you need to adjust her meds. You can read a ton about seizures here including meds, causes, supplements that might help etc.
