I have a golden retriever who is just a little over 2 years old, she was diagnosed with a thyroid problem last fall, she was put on Levothyroxine .7mg 1 twice a day but was recently upped to 1 1/2 twice a day. She has in the past and is currently now experiencing hot spots, hair loss and weight gain. This medication does not seem to be helping her at all. We had blood drawn and sent to Heska in Colorado but the results came back showing nothing really out of the norm. She's miserable to say the least and the only relief she gets to her hot skin is getting in the pool a couple of times a day. She pants excessively and we're just at our wits end on what to do for her. Yes we are keeping her as comfortable as we know how. My question is this.......is the thyroid pill she's taking the same as a pill I read about called Synthroid, does one work better than the other. We have spent tons of money trying to help her get better.

Thank you in advance, any advice is muchly appreciated.
