I have a exotic persian and she won't open her ...

I have a exotic persian and she won't open her one eye. If that happens I normally wipe her eyes, and I did that but it still won't get her to open her eye. Should I take her somewhere to get help? or why will she not open her eye?

Hi,

I share your concern for your cat. Eyes are considered an "emergency" which means it should be seen tomorrow. She may have something in her eye, or a corneal ulcer which is a "defect" or scratch in the outermost surface of the eye. It is painful which is why she probably isn't opening it. Your veterinarian can determine if it's an ulcer by putting a stain in the eye and seeing if it adheres to the surface of the eye. If it's an ulcer, it's important to be treated.
