I noticed the end of my cat's tongue is bright red and there is a lot of saliva around her mouth. It also smells.

It sounds as though your kitty may have an abscess or an oral infection of some sort. You really need to get this checked out because this could affect her kidneys or liver if left untreated. She may also have an infection of her stomach or pancreas which will cause bad breath. Please take her into the vet tomorrow and get her examined to rule out anything serious. Let me know what happens!
