What antibiotic?
Sent to Cat Experts July 15 10:35 PM

Hello, I have an 8-year-old cat and noticed that she is going to the bathroom more often then usual. By her kitty litter there were a few drops of urine pink color. I'm assuming she has a urinary track infection and was wondering what is the best antibiotic for her. Is there a way I can order a proscription without taking her to the vet?

Thank you ~

I don't know of anyplace that you can order them from and even if you could she needs to be started on them soon. The biggest reason she should see a vet is because she may have bladder stones causing this as well as a UTI. Be sure she drinks plenty of fresh water until you can have her seen. Sometimes cats will drink more if you buy them a kitty flowing water fountain.

Reply to Joni's Post: Thank you for your quick responce. She has had blatter stones removed in the past and was fine for several years. About a year ago, I brought her to the vet for simular simptoms that she is having now and they prescribed a anitbiotic. I'm looking for both the name of an anitbiotic that treats this condition and a place I can buy it from. I currently don't have the means to be able to bring her to a Vet and pay the cost of lab results ect. Is there an online website that can take care I can order from that you know of?
Thanks for your time.

Since she has had these problems you can probably call your vet and explain the money issues, the cats issues and tell them you really want to try antibiotics first and most vets will prescribe them if the cat is a patient there, has been seen for it before, etc.
