Female cats cycle constantly. They come into season for about 2 top 3 weeks starting around 6 months of age. They will go out of season for the same length of time. They are not like dogs that cycle every 6 months. Cats cycle constantly and are not on a regular 'schedule. They cycle year round, although they do tend to cycle a little less frequently in the late fall and winter. Their gestation period lasts 65-69 days, and they can start back into season as soon as 3 weeks after kittens are born; however, 8-9 weeks is the average.
