ACCEPTED Check Mark

You can try soaking the foot in warm epsom salt water 2 to 3 times a day for the next few days and see if that helps. If not then you may have to take him to the vet for antibiotics.

ok I will try that.I am a nurse so Im not totally lost but would like to avoid vet fees if possible.Do you think putting a little antibiotic ointment on his paw would also help and maybe a bandage over his paw pad since it keeps getting litter stuck in the pa and it gets all icky.

REPLIED Check Mark

The problem would keeping him from licking off the ointment. If you can keep a bandage on him then it would be worth a try. If you can get some childrens amoxi drops 50mg/ml you can give him some of that, about 1/2 ml twice daily for about 10 days. If not try the wraps.
