Is it harmful to give store bought milk to kittens and adult cats, even if it is fat free , if so what are the harmful affects?

Cats and kittens are unable to digest the sugar "lactose" that is found in cows' milk. Just as in people, lactose-intollerance can cause a lot of digestive problems: gas, stomach pain, and diarrhea.

In addition, it can be a shock to the digestive system for pets to drink refrigerated milk.

You can find several brands of milk products made specially for cats in the Pet section of the food store...these drinks have been processed to break down the milk sugars so that your cats do not feel sick afterward. Taurine has also been added to be of more benefit to your dear pets.
