Is there anything that is safe to use around newborn ...

Is there anything that is safe to use around newborn kittens for fleas? Thje mother had been treated with a shoulder flea control but she got out prior to the birth and picked up some fleas and we have seen a few fleas on the kittens. The kittens are only three days old.

The only safe product is food grade diatomacious earth which you can get online at www.internetgrocer.com or some pet supplies, garden centers or health food stores. Spriknkle it in the kittens bed area. It smothers the fleas and is perfectly safe for all domestc animals but not safe for fish.
