My female cat (a stray from 5yrs. ago) had 9 kittens 2 days ago and there's still a kitten inside her. I'm sure it's dead, and she only has a contraction every now and then, dribbles a little blood, but still has not passed it. I was gonna have her spade, but she got pregnant before she even weaned her last kittens and I was afraid she was too far along and I'd lose her in the surgery. My concern was her age as I'm unsure of it and she was full grown when she came to us. Anyway, I'm very concerned. I've been stroking her side a little firm to try to help the kitten come down, but am unsure if that's safe for her. My husband will not hear of any expensive surgical procedure. Should I rub her tummy or leave her be? Is there a shot they can give her that won't be extremely expensive that would help bring on the contractions and pass the kitty???

Thank you very much for your time!!
