My neighbor brought me a kitten just before she moved. I think it's approximately 8 weeks old. It has diarrhea and doesn't eat, and occasionally vomits. I haven't changed the food since she brought me the kitten; it's still the same stuff she fed it. It's still playful and loves to cuddle, but I'm worried about it. Since I just moved, with all the costs that come with any move, I don't have money to take him to a vet. Is there anything I can try by myself? If not, is there a low-cost vet in the Columbus, OH area that you know of?
Thanks,
Lynn

Your best bet is to feed a bland diet of boiled chicken or beef to see if this seems to help with the stomach upset. It could be that the diet is not tolerable for the kitten so it may be wise to change the type of food you are feeding to an IB diet that can help with intestional tract discomfort. I would first try the bland diet for 1-2 days as this will help not only with the vomiting but the diarrhea as well. I am also going to include a link below that has some information about low cost pet care that may help you in your area, but do check your local animal shelter as well as they usually have all the contact numbers for low cost help as well.
