Question

what is the optimal temperature range in a house for kittens?

Sent to Cat Experts July 18, 2006 9:12 a.m.

My wife and I work during the day. We just brought a kitten home that had previously stayed in a garage as well as outside. We live in Ky and, naturally it's quite warm this summer. When we brought her home from getting her vaccination shots at the vet, I noticed that she was trembling a lot. It occurred to me that she was not used the A/C. We keep it about 70 degrees. I bump up the temp to about 75 when we leave for work and keep her in a large room upstairs. It still has A/C but it will probably get up to 75-78 degrees in that room while we're at work. She has plenty of food/water, but I don't it to be too warm? I've had cats when I was growing up and I have seen them sit in the sun all day and know that they really like warm, but I want to make sure it's not too warm.

Thanks for getting back to me!
