I have a feral kitten that from the 1rst day I saw him has been very friendly and unafraid of people. But his mother took him away from us a month ago and he just returned yesterday. He is so thin I thought he would die. I brought him home with me and am feeding himWhiskas pouches. He ate alot the first time and continued to eat a little bit throughout the day. His first poop was very hard but since has turned to almost liquid and frequent. He was visibly weak and his eyes were almost rolled back with the tissue inside his eyes covering half his eyes. Today he is a little better but I dont know what to give him to stabilize him. I dont work and a vet visit is almost impossible. What do you suggest?

Deasr friend,

Firs of all do not let Scooter ooutdoors anymore. In this instance his mama does NOT know what is best for him.You have to get the poor boy on a good diet.Initially I would cook some chicken and white rice for him but if you can't - just add cooked white rice to canned cat food. Also give him a teaspoon daily of plain yogurt to replace the good bacteria in his system.

Hopefully, if he is well fed and kept indoors his own immune system will overcome these issues.

Please keepin touch and let me know how he is doing.

Warmest best wishes,

Terri

Reply to Terri Riba's Post: Sorry my computer crashed. I just had one more question about Scooter. He is doing a little better, runs are better or firmer but he still is not very active. The question is about his eyes, that tissue inside his eyes is still covering about half of his eye. Is this something serious or just because he is so weak and malnourished?
Thank You
