she has ear mites, is it possible for them to get into her eyes because she has a coffee ground looking substance around the inside of her eyes. also if it is conjuctivitis can a child's eye drops for pink eye be used?

the animal shelter we got her from had put something in her ear for the mites called Frontline...it was a gooey yellowish looking stuff so she may have been allergic to it? thank you for everything you have been really supportive and helpful.

Frontline is predominantly for fleas. It does not go in the ears. You really need to see the vet with this kitten. Animal shelters have vets on staff. I suggest you take her over there and insist one of their vets see her and not charge you anything. They are supposed to give you a healthy kitten with the appropriate meds.

No. There is not. If you are seeing green or yellow mucus in the eyes, the problem is now bacterial. This means that the cat will not recover without antibiotics.

Did you just get your pet from a shelter? If so, www.petfinder.com offer 1 free month of pet insurance for your new pet. Just go to the petfinder.com site and click on "shelter care" to read all about it.

Reply to Tammy Falkner's Post: I got her 30 days ago but i have had one problem after another. What kind of antibiotics will she need? Will it be oral? I still have a bottle of cephalexin from where she had an upper respiratory infection a few weeks ago, will that help? The shelter I got her from refuses to help me.

Actually the vet at the shelter said give it to her for 10 days and i did, so i did finish the medication the first time....her eyes did not look like this when she had the infection. I saw nothing on the sight about a FREE month of insurance.
