my cat is about 3 years old and she has scabs on and around ...

my cat is about 3 years old and she has scabs on and around her head and neck area. she sleeps all day and doesn't play with anyone. she also doesn't like to be petted in certain areas. she eats a lot but she doesn't put on any weight. can you help?

Hi,

When did these symptoms begin? Does she scratch at her head and neck area where the scabs are located? Can you describe the scabby areas--is the skin there, red, irritated, scaly, dry, clusters of scabs in one area, etc.?

Is your cat spayed and up to date on her vaccinations?

Does she go outside at all?

Is she on any flea preventative like Advantage or Frontline?

When was her last vet visit?

Reply to Jessesmom's Post: she does not go outside at all, she's on no flea medication and her last vet visit was january of 2006. she's not spayed and i think she's up to date on her shots. the scabby areas the areas are a little scaly and dry and she doesn't mind when you touch her there.
