One of my cats chin became dirty looking the next week
Sent to Cat Experts August 25 01:39 PM

One of my cats chin became dirty looking the next week I noticed swelling when I picked him up it was obvious he had lumps on his neck, I took him to the vet and they had to open it and drain and give him antibiotics. Now I have another cat showing the same chin problems and the third cat has a dirty looking chin??? The vet told me the infection came from the other cats scratching him but now it seems something else is going on, thank you in advance.

Dear Erma,

This sounds just like feline acne. However, it is not usually contagious so it may have turned bacterial. You can see it here:

Please get right back to me and let me know if this is what you see so we can discuss this further.

Very sincerely,

Terri

Dear friend,

That is because you caught it in time. Continue with the antibiotics as it is bacterial if the other cats have caught it. If you are using plastic feeding dishes change to metal or glass. You can also use human acne pads to treat it three or four times a day.You can also order an excellent product at www.revivalanimal.com

Please let me know if you have any more questions. I will be happy to help in any way possible.

Very sincerely,

Terri
