Maybe he didn't get out. If there's more than one person available to do this, it'll go a lot faster
Look into spots in your home that you might not normally suspect. Dryers, dishwashers, closet shelves, showers, cabinets, drawers and behind everything - no matter how small.
In the yard search in/under cars, on top of the tires (we've actually found a few of them nestled there when helping others find escapees), garages, pipes/drains/sewers, etc..
Get a really smelly cat food and while everyone is staying very quiet, open it (doesn't matter if it's a can or packet) and quietly wait a few minutes. Hopefully the smell will draw him out of his hiding space - or cause him to meow to let you know he can't open the door (we find them in cabinets a lot too!).
When you look in cabinets or drawers, be sure to look to the very deepest, darkest back of them and under things.
Also look UP into the underside of beds and furniture (we've pulled many out from these things - even when it looks like the material covering the springs or frame hasn't been torn or disturbed).
Make phone calls to local animal rescue orgs with his description and your location. Talk to neighbors (ask them to help). Call your animal control (city and/or county) offices to find out if someone picked up what looked like a stray cat today.

Please let me know if you find him (and where) ok? Or if there is anything else I can do! I really care.
