How do you keep a cat from jumping on the door to look in the glass window? The door is getting badly scratched and some of the paint is off. The cat is well cared for, so that is not the problem. She just loves to jump on the door.

Optional Information:
Age: 3; Female; Breed: just a cat

Already Tried:
Putting tape on the door, and hanging a bag of citrus fruit on the door which we heard would discourage cats.

Ok, wanted to make sure. There are a couple of things that you can try. One would be to put a shade on the window part of the door, it may be that she can see activity inside and wants to know what is going on. If she can't see in she may stop. Another option would be to scare her from the door. Taping balloons or water balloons on the door so they pop and either scare her or make her wet may get her to stop jumping on the door. One other thing to consider if this is a back door would be to put a shelf on the door so she can sit and look in and not keep jumping and clawing the door trying to get up there.
