Cat breathing strange....

My 4 yr old cat has started breathing heavy -- she looks like she is working really hard to breathe, yet she acts normally in every other way. She eats, drinks, plays, sleeps, and deficates normally. What could this be? I'm sorry, but I don't have a lot of money. I need to save every penny since I think this is going to require an expensive vet bill.

If your cat is laying around and working hard to breathe, or even open mouth breathing...you need to take her to a vet ASAP. I consider any respiratory effort in a cat an emergency.  They can have acute and life threatening episodes of asthma, but usually there is a process going on in the lungs that requires immediate care.

Please call and see if there is an emergency clinic near you!
