My cat is 15 yrs old. He has has a history of allergies all his life, but always overcame any problems. This time has been more severe, he was given a shot of cortisone to help stop the scratching, but that didn't last long. Now he is almost through with a week of being on antibiotics and his breathing is still strained. He appears to still be congested. The vet is ready to give up on him due to his age.
Is there anything you might suggest to relieve his congestion? If he could breathe better to be able to smell, then I believe he would eat. Right now we are force feeding him, but he is drinking water on his on. He seems to be hungry and he is responsive.
