My cat is acting very strange all of a sudden, not eating, ...

My cat is acting very strange all of a sudden, not eating, his coat looks bad he whines and now he is hissing and growling at my husband, he isnt current on his shots but has had two rounds of his rabies shots- I am taking him to the vet in the morning could it be rabies?

Reply to Terri Riba's Post: I only let him out for maybe a couple of hours a day, see I just moved to a house in a subdivision from an apt about 2 months ago- he has been like this for about a week- no he isnt eating good and he has lost weight and his coat looks bad, oh and his was 3 years old this past July
