hungry cat that will not eat

My female cat is 6 years old. She has always eaten dry purina cat food. For the last 4-5 months she has become extremely picky as to what she eats. I have tried feeding her everything from dry food to the canned food from the cheapest to the most expensive brands. She may eat a certain food one time and then not want it the next. She was never a fat cat , but was around 12-15 lbs. Now she is very skinny weighing under 10 lbs. I know she is hungry because she walks around meowing. She sometimes bites me out of frustration b/c she doesn't want what I have fed her. When I put the food in a dish, she smells it and then walks away meowing. Is this a sign of a finicky cat or is there a medical issue? I took her to the vet and they said she had no temp., her gums were pink, good color, and she wasn't dehydrated. They agreed that she was extremely underweight and did some blood work on her. They ruled out feline
leukemia. Do you have any suggestions?

Reply to michele's Post: They sent her blood off to be further tested for additional illnesses but it may take a week to 10 days for the results. He did say that her kidneys were enlarged.

Reply to michele's Post: We live in a small rural town and they needed to send the blood off for further testing. The receipt says FELV/FIV snap test
