My 4 year old tiger cat has had diarrhea like stools, very smelly, like a gob of running gel, She eats UR cat food because of her constant bladder infections. I have been giviing her some Acidopholus through Foster and Smith to help with the intestine tract, but it doesn't seem to get any better or help at all. This has been going on now for some time, almost a year. She plays, eats, drinks, and seems fine. I am worried something more may be wrong with her. Do you think she is okay? I don't have much money to take her in for a bunch of testing. She does puck up some food at times. She eats grass sometimes to help. I hope she is okay

It sounds like you're doing almost everything you can imagine and I'll offer that you try adding a small amount of psyllium (Metamucil tm). Immodium AD (loperamide) about .1 to .2 mg per 2 lbs of weight. There are measuring spoons and baby medication dosers that will help measure.

If you don't find this improves things in 24 hours, you need to make the vet appointment. For this to be going on so long isn't right and she might be advancing with a serious condition that would be more successfully treated if caught early.

Don't forget to call your local Humane Society for guidance as well. If you have a Pet Smart in town, they often have the numbers for rescue organizations that may also help, at least with recommendations for where (or who ) to go.
