I have a 11 year old cat that has been acting odd, for the last 4 days she just stays in one place all the time, and she has been shedding, very very badly. I have had her for her whole life, inside all the time, and she has never had any symptons like this. Thanks Adam

Dear Adam,

Your cats symptoms are indicative of dehydration. This can be caused by the kidneys not filtering perfectly. You need to have some bloodwork done on her. She may require subcutanious fluids to stablize her while the cause is isolated. In the meantime you can give her one dropper of plain pedialyte every ten minutes for an hour to get her started. Then droppers of watered down cat food every ten minutes for another hour.

Please let me know how she is and if you still have questions. I will be happy to help.

Very sincerely,

Terri

Thanks for your responce, i took her to the vet, she has fleas, never checked for them, she is inside all the time and i have another cat that does not have them. Not sure where they came from. I got some frontline and that seems to have done the trick.Sorry for my stupidity wasting your time. Thanks Adam

Dear Adam,

As long as your cat is OK - that is all that is important to me. Sometimes fleas hitch a ride in on your shoe and all it takes is one to make an invasion.

If you ever have more questions - I will be happy to help.

Warmest best wishes,

Terri
