Hello,

Thank you for sending your question to Just Answer!

Diarrhea in cats can me caused by many, many things. If she is able to go outside, it could be that she ate a dead animal (just enough to make her sick) or her food diet.

You can give her Pepto Bismol to help soothe her stomach and I would keep her on a very bland diet for the day, such as boiled rice and chicken. Do not give her soft food or people food.

If the diarrhea has not improved by the end of the day I would definetly suggest you take her to your vet. You have to watch for dehydration, which comes with diarrhea and it can happen very quickly.

hope this helps. If you need further information, please feel free to contact me.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. We can rule out anything that might have happened outdoors.

I would still suggest you keep her on a very bland diet (rice&chicken) for a few days until the diarrhea has stopped.

There are quite a bit of products available at the pet stores for diarrhea, and since your cat's primary symptoms is diarrhea, I would start her on an anti-diarrhea medication.

I hope this helps. If you need further information, please feel free to contact me.

Relist: I prefer a second opinion.
But what are the causes is it the food? age, illness, environment?
