my female cat has a clear fliud leaking from her rectum, slight odor like when you express anal glands

Since this fluid has a similar odor, it's possible that it IS coming from her anal glands and they need to be expressed by the vet or treated for a possible infection.

Has she had this problem before and had the anal glands expressed? I ask because you seem familiar with the procedure and odor.

Are you sure the discharge is coming from the anus and not the vulva?

Is she acting fine and displaying no symptoms of lethargy, loss of appetite or changes in bowel or urination habits?

When there is a discharge from this particular area and it has a 'stinky' odor, it's most usually an anal gland problem. For more information on anal gland (sac) disorders, please see:

I would suggest that you make an appt. with your vet to have her evaluated and then you will receive a definite diagnosis and treatment, if necessary.
