My cat is 16 1/2 years old and has been taking 5 mg of Methimazole twice a day for almost 3 years now for hyperthyroidism. Otherwise she has been very healthy. She is an inside (mostly inside) and outside cat. Recently she has had twitching in her legs, almost like she is shaking water off of them. It lasts for only a few seconds but has become increasingly more frequent lately. It happens while sitting and while she is walking. Also, tonight she did the twitching with her head. Her breething also seems to be a little more labored, with her stomach moving move activley around. She has been having "accidents" before getting quite to her litter box and vomiting about once a week lately. Her diet consists of Purina One dry cat food for mature cats, and baby food (veal) to mix with her medicine. She has yearly check ups and vaccines. How concerned should I be and at what point should I take her in for another checkup? Do you think it is just age related? Her last one was in June. She is an "only" animal in the household. Thank you for any information that you may offer.
