Question

My cat is not acting right. She has been throwing up ...

Sent to Cat Experts September 04, 2006 1:12 p.m.

My cat is not acting right. She has been throwing up yellowish foamy stuff. She is normally begging to go outside and she is just sitting kind of balled up, on the floor. She normally sleeps on a bed or top of the couch. What should I do for her? She isn;t eating, but is drinking water. This   has been going on for about 26 hours.
Thanks,

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Please take your kitty into the vet. The fact that she's not eating indicates either an obstruction or an infection of some sort, and she needs to be examined to see what is going on. Cats will develop hepatic lipadosis (fatty liver) if they go more than 3 or 4 days without eating, and that can be life threatening. I would get her in first thing tomorrow at the latest. Please let me know how she's doing.
