Our three year old cat is passing blood. No stool, just liquid. It is a $100 visit to the after hour emergency. Can we treat this problem with an over the counter medication? I cant really afford an unneccessary visit. Is there medication we can give him until we can get him to his regular vet

How much blood is there? Is it bright red? Are you sure it's in the stool and he's not urinating the blood?
