Question

My cat has not been jumping

Sent to Cat Experts August 28, 2006 4:09 p.m.

My cat, who used be be a great jumper/runner, has not been jumping (or running) for the past two weeks. What could be the issue? She does not limp when walking and still travels up and down stairs. She is about 5 years old, so she is not very old. I have tried to palpitate her legs and did not notice any drastic reaction. Any idea what could be wrong?

She may not be feeling well. Is she eating, drinking and using the litter box normally?

She is eating and drinking and I assume using the litter box regularly... I do hear her in the litter box. I have two cats so this seems to all be normal, but it's harder to detect with two cats. She might be sleeping a bit more, but I'm not totally sure. She seems just a bit more subdued.

I should point out that even though she is not jumping, she still gets up onto the bed, couch, etc. She just leads with her front paws and claws her way up versus her normal high jump where she lands on her back legs.

Relist: I prefer a second opinion.
