Constipated Cat, ate to many greenies

What can I do about my 15 year old cat with a bad hip who is constipated from eating too many greenies snacks? He is having trouble taking a poop, and his stomach is getting big and sensitive to touch. Is there a way to soften his stool, or give him a laxative?

You can give hima spoonful of pumpkin in his food as this will help to soften the stools as laxitives without veterinarian administering is not safe for the intestional tract and stomach. If he is showing signs of bloating you should not wait to see if the pumpkin works but have him seen as soon as possible before he becomes impacted.
