I recently moved into a basement apartment, and shortly after I noticed my cat had strange scabs on the base of her tail and on her tail. She also seems to be coughing on occasion (It sounds like she's about to vomit, but it seems lung-related). I hope the coughing is due to dust or another temporary problem, but her tail has me very worried. She doens't go outside, and she has no interaction with other cats. Could she have ticks?
