We have a cat who has not yet been fixed and ran out one night. She came home the next morning and we suspected she might be pregnant but weren't sure. We recently brought home a new kitten, and now the cat is acting very protective of it. It's almost as if she's acting as it's mother. Does this mean her motherly instinct are kicking in because she's pregnant, or could it just be a protectiveness over this kitten?
