(Not a Cat Question?)

my cat Mia

i have a cat named Mia. She's eleven or twele and spayed. We've had her since she was one. In the past two days, she hasn't eaten anything. She usually eats a lot during the day. Lately the only thing she wants to do is go outside. When I let her out, she will sit there out meow loudly for no reason. I also found her sitting in the bathtub meowing. I think the reason she isn't eating is because she has a cold and can't smell, but i'm cluless about the meowing and only wanting to go out. PLEASE HELP.

Your cat is definitely trying to tell you something. Now you just have to figure out what.

I would be very worried if it has been more than 24 hours since she last ate. Cats can experience hepatic lipidosis if they go without food. This happens when the liver thinks it's starving and starts to grab fat cells. This ends up killing the liver.

I suggest that you see the vet with her immediately (today if you can) so that you can get some bloodwork and find out what's going on.

This may be as simple as an upper respiratory issue that has decreased her sense of smell. Cats will often stop eating if they lose their sense of smell.

But at her age and with the symptoms you are seeing, I would be very concerned.

She is trying to tell you that she needs to see the vet immediately. She is subject to liver failure if she does not eat soon and may already be experiencing it.

Liver failure can cause sudden blindness or at least partial vision loss so that might be the reason for the vocalization, if she is confused.

I know that sounds like a very generic answer but you really need to take care and see the vet with her ASAP.
