Hi, I have an 12 yr old male cat diagnosed with diabetes. Accucheks range 500 and greater without any insulin. Giving PZI twice a day as recommended by the vet is either not providing a sustained range of around 200 (as recommended by vet), and sometimes 6 hours after a dose I will check him and he will be 30 - 50 ! (Dangerous levels I understand). Isn't there some long-acting insulin for cats ? I work all day, and it will be difficult to come home to give insulin every 6 - 8 hrs as might be ideal with this insulin. Any alternatives ? Thanks so much for your second opinion.
