My cat is always scratching and missing patches of fur. I use the monthly flea and heart worm medicine (Revolution). I seldom let him outside. What is wrong? Thank you.

Can you describe what the spots look like that are missing fur? Are they scaley and dry looking? Bloody or weepy? Thank you for any additional info you can provide!

Hello, Thank you for your reply. The spots that are missing fur look like normal skin with very short fur. They look like he has been shaved where the fur is growing back. He scratches them with his feet and mouth. There is one spot by his ear that he had scratched until it made a scab. I had heard that it could be stress. I have been gone a lot this summer and he is not used to that at all. I have left him by himself over the weekend with nobody around, just a lot of food and water. I hope this helps.
