Reply to Terri Riba's Post: He has just been like this for 1 day. Yes he does go outdoors. He is 9 yrs. old and I think that he does potty. His appetite is still very good too.

Dear friend,

As you know the tail is an extention of the spine and contains bones, discs, vertibrae and cartilidge. Any spinal or potty issue can cause this symptom. A slipped disc, fracture or dislocated vertibrae, even a pullingof carteidge of tendons.

If your cat was hit by a car, fell, or was injured by ahuman creep you could see this symptom. If he has impacted stool, kidney or liver problames those could cause this as well.

Since he is eating and does not appear to be in pain - first look for constipation. If that is not an issue - I would consider the possibility of an injury. You can apply some warm compresses or a warm heating pad a few times a day. However, if your boy does not improve or even gets worse it is advisable to have a vet evaluate him. He may have an injury that would respond favorably to a steroid shot. It is best not to allow him access to the outdoors until you resolve this problem.

Please let me know how he is doing and if you have further questions. I am happy to help in any way possible.

Very sincerely,

Terri
