Hi,

Has your cat been treated for urinary tract infection(s) and/or crystals recently? Was s/he put on antibiotics and/or were any dietary changes made to help improve the health of the urinary tract and blance the urinary pH to help prevent future occurrences of crystals?

As you know, cats with urinary infections (especially chronic ones) come to associate the litterbox with the discomfort/pain they feel upon   elimination, so they 'blame' the litterbox for the pain and then choose to eliminate ANYWHERE else.

There's a comparatively new clumping kitty litter called "Cat Attract" which has added herbal attractants that bring cats back to the litterbox after they've eliminated inappropriately due to a urinary tract infection and/or behavioral problem. This litter can be bought at Petsmart/Petco, and other major pet supply stores.

I do hope your cat is feeling better very soon and this litter I recommended works out well for you both!
