My older cat (15 years young) has been vomiting. Not sure if it tinted pink because of blood or because of something she ate. Now if it is blood, what can be done to find out what is happening? She is active and eats normally.

Reply to Terri Riba's Post: Not sure if she maybe ate some dog food. Her sister has Hypothyroidism? and we have to give her pills twice a day. We give the pill with cheese, and ALL the animals get a small piece.

We find hairballs occasionally and have four cats. Don't know which one does which ones though. As far as stress, we are pretty much laid back and things a quiet at this time because the 14 year old is out of state. So I would say the stress level is low.

Dear friend,

Dog food is very rough and could cause a severe digestive upset. The pink color could be a little blood but is more likely the fillers and colorings that are used.

Take her off all dry food for a few days. Water down canned cat food to a gruel and feed her with a dropper - very slow - only one dropper evry 15 minutes for two hours. Get some plain pedialyte and give her a dropper every ten minutes for an hour.

Please get back to me and let me know if she can keep that down - if not you wil have to boil some skinless chicken.

I will stand by to hear from you.

Very sincerely,

Terri

Reply to Terri Riba's Post: Keeping any of the cats away from the dog food is okay, they all eat it. We can make her special along with her sister. If this is just a fluke (with the tainted vomit) then we will find out. If there is something more I will let you know and I will gladdly pay more than $8.

Dear friend,

Do not worry about paying more - it is really not necessary. My main concern is helping your cat. So please get started with the feedings and let me know how she is tolerating it.

I am happy to help you for the one time 8.00 charge.

Very sincerely,

Terri
