cat feces

our cat sometimes gets poop on the carpet and kitchen floor because it doesn't come out of her hole completely. (excuse the graphic language) it's connected to hair or grass or something long and stringy...and she rubs her behind on the rug to get it off. and poop ends up everywhere. i don't know how to correct the problem. it's getting close to the point of me taking her to the animal shelter. she's ruining my rugs and my furniture
