why do you think my cat is losing weight, but is hurgry most of the time and throws-up sometime's.?

Already Tried:
we started giving him can food with dry food and it helped the throwing-up a lot, we also took him to the vet and the Dr. said he may have to get a hair ball removed from his stomach he gave us some medicine to help him pass it and he started losing weight, and almost stoped throwing-up but he is still losing weight and hurgry a lot. We think he does'nt like die in his food so we bought iams food and he liked it a lot and seemed to do ok. on that. but he really likes the can food and I don't want he to just stay on that because he will lose more weight.
