I took my 12-year-old cat to the vet two days ago. She had x-rays and we found out she has some arthritis in her lower back (probably due to an injury 6 years prior). She got a shot of dexamethasone and got some metacam to start in two-three days. I was told to put 20 drops into her food the first day, 10 the following two, and 2-3 thereafter. Is it ok to give her the metacam two days after her dexamethasone injection? Does this dosage sound correct? Is metacam ok to give to my cat even though it is meant for dogs?
