My cat is ~13 years old. In Feb, I noticed that he had bilateral swelling in his neck. I took him to vet#1, who told me that the cells were irregular and prescribed prednizone. In 4-6 weeks, there were changes in swelling. I could feel round large marble sized masses in his neck. Took him to vet #2 and had more tests done. After an x-ray, blood test, and lab work (removed cells from masses), everything came back normal except for the cells in the masses were irregular. Also note that he does not have lukemia. My cat has been extra thirsty but other than that he's been showing no signs of being effected by the swollen neck glands. I took him to a specialist (oncology dept) to get some more advice which left me with the feeling that I had to start chemo or radiation therapy. At this point, I want to help my cat get better but I'm not convinced that the recommended treatment is the right thing to do. It's been 4 months since the signs and symptoms started and my cat is still doing healthy cat activities. Is there anything else I can do to cure my cat? Thanks for your help and advice.
